Slavoj Zizek

When one is reading Zlavoj Zizek one feels as a tourist must feel among the divers of the Bajau people of southeast Asia. You watch in awe as they immerse themselves for death defyingly long periods of time pulling up treasure after treasure while you struggle to get 20 feet beneath the surface without dying.

I find I must come up for breath regularly when reading Zizek but I keep going back because I can see the treasure just below the surface…and with every dive I stay under longer.
