so much that won’t be seen
that one wonders at the point
of it all

so many lives and hearts
that will never know
that one wishes there were no
ties that bind

but bound we are
into this great and global
Gordian knot of one-another;
tied together in unnatural ways,
inseparable and insufferable
that we swim in our own tears
and cannot tell if we are laughing
or if it is the world next to us…

and even in the lonely cave
shadows are cast upon the wall
reminding us there is no alone
