I read a small article about 24-year-old Norwegian singer Ida Maria in Spin magazine. She’s got a pretty rough voice but it works for her and there’s something pretty cool about her music and the fact that she puts everything into her songs. I can’t really think of anyone to compare her to. I was listening to some of her songs on Youtube and so far my favorite is Stella…there are some pretty cool lyrics in it including the following:

 

Anyhow, she rocks pretty fine and is worth listening to. Let me know if you’ve heard of her and what you think.
