A New Flesh: Redux

Look – see what happens when Word meets Flesh

When the hand everlasting embraces this mortal coil:

The perfect purifying Christ burns clean and bright

and sings us from our tombs with the words –

“Lazarus come forth!”

Forget the rot you knew and know a new flesh

Recreated forever and ever

Amen.

I really like the redux. I think it stands well on its own. (okay, I also like short poems. I can get my head around them better.)The first "A New Flesh" – I think I\’d title it something else. "A Confession," maybe? Maybe not. But "What\’s Wrong With Christianity Today" doesn\’t sound like a very good title for a poem.Janet

Thanks…Yeah – I think maybe the longer one rambles a bit – I sensed only moments of inspiration as i was writing it – so that makes it a bit uneven i think. I like the short version best as well…I think you\’re right on that last title – i wouldn\’t use it either.
