i invited a poltergeist
to live in my quiet home
and lo did the world become chaos
from that point forward
and i thought to myself
perhaps the home is at fault
the ceilings are not high enough
the windows are too small
and look the floors are bare
they need more carpet
to warm my chilled feet
so i worked from each day
to change from wall to wall
but still things were thrown
but still i was frozen to the bone
but still screams in the night
kept me from my sleep
until finally it occured to me –

i need a new home;
and so we moved
my ghost and i
yet
inexplicably
it continues
