When i wake in the morning
I look for a warning
That tells me the lay of the day,
Will the sun rise bright
Will it stay forever night
What will the sought signs say?
If all remains black
If I’m under attack
Like timid and frightened prey
I’ll hide in my bed
As if i am dead
Until the clouds go flying away;
But if i wake to the light
That glorious sight
That keeps my dark at bay,
I will leap to my feet
And strive to defeat
By entering the battle’s fray.
And I know the sun has to set in the west
But I’m tired of taking this fucking test
Let me kindle a fire inside of my soul
To strengthen the heart in my chest.
