The pressures of diving

One jumps in

And begins to descend

Each stroke a choice

Deeper into the abyss

And it gets darker

And it gets colder

Until you feel crushed

Like death is near

These are the pressures of diving

That seek to hug you tight

And never let go

A claustrophobia

Worn like a suit –

Skin tight.
