A brighter light

With each new evening

That twilight falls

And I dread

That this is the one

That never ends

Until without fail –

I awake in the morning

To a newer summer’s sun

And a brighter, languid light

That drives away

The most persistent night

Leaving a bluer sky

Blossoming in orange and red

Reflected in the dew as gems

As even stalking shadows flee

The forcful beat of a happy heart

Setting time to a good day’s start.
