i sailed an inner sea,
an ocean that was inside of me,
and found to my surprise
that i was lost within myself
having forgotten where i began
unsure of where i will end;

and so i sat in my small boat
and drifted aimlessly
upon a flat and placid expanse
hoping for a shoreline
or an island
to cast my future toward
