Ok – well I read about this latest singer in the National Post of all places. Lykke Li is a 22-year-old Swedish singer and I think she has a very interesting sound. Not sure why all the musicians I’m liking lately are European (not that there’s anything wrong with that…). I suspect the music press is focusing a bit more on our friends across the pond and this is contributing.

 

Anyhow – if you get a chance listen to some of her songs on Youtube like: I’m Good, I’m Gone or Dance, Dance, Dance. Both excellent and weird (in a good way).

 

Oh yeah – I forgot to mention that she’s going to be playing at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis on February 8th. I think that that Varsity has become my official favorite concert venues and I haven’t even been there yet. It seems like all the musicians I’m becoming interested in lately end up at the Varsity. I won’t be going to see her there because I already have the two other concerts planned for April (Glasvegas w/ Ida Maria and The Ting Tings).
